Mark up Scripture.
Present it live.

Marked Word is a whiteboard for the Word. Circle, underline, and annotate the text like ink on paper — then put just the passage and your markings on the screen. The tools stay with you. The room sees the Word.

EPHESIANS 6:1–4 · KJV

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

God rewards
obedience

If you’ve ever taught with a marked-up page in your hand and wished the room could see it the way you see it — this is that.

Study

Click any word. The Greek or Hebrew behind it, a Bible dictionary entry, and every other place it appears in Scripture — built in, instant, and fully offline. No tabs, no lookups, no losing your place.

Mark

Pen, highlighter, circles, arrows, margin notes — and inductive-study symbols with one click. Every mark anchors to its words, not the screen: resize the text and the ink follows.

03

Present

The audience screen shows the passage and your ink — never the toolbar. Step through your markings one at a time with a clicker, blackout instantly, or draw live while the room watches the text open up.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Step 0 / 3

Any screen is your second screen.

Plug into the projector and the audience window just works. Or tap Go Live and hand the booth a link or a QR code — any computer, iPad, or phone that opens it follows your markup in real time. Teach from an iPad with a Pencil while the projector runs across the room. No cables on the stage.

Yours, even with the Wi-Fi down.

Offline-first

The whole app — text, Greek & Hebrew, dictionary — installs to your device. Sanctuary Wi-Fi can’t take down a sermon.

Your data is yours

Studies save on your machine, back up to a single file, and export as high-res images for handouts. No lock-in, ever.

Honest translations

KJV, WEB, and ASV ship today (public domain). NASB, NKJV, ESV and LSB are on the roadmap as licensing allows.

It’s in beta, and it’s free.

Teach with it, then tell me

I’m looking for teachers who’ll use this for a real lesson or sermon and say what broke, what was missing, and what they’d never give up.

Nothing to sign up for — just open it and teach. If something gets in your way, or you wish it did one more thing, I’d genuinely like to hear it.

Fair questions.

Which translations are included?

KJV, World English Bible, and American Standard Version — all public domain, all bundled and offline. Licensed translations (NASB 1995, NKJV, and hopefully the ESV and LSB) are in progress; those publishers license their text individually, so they’ll arrive as the agreements are signed, and they’ll need a connection.

Does it really work offline?

Yes — fully. The app installs to your device and precaches the text, the Strong’s data, and the dictionary. Presenting over a cable needs no network at all; live screen links are the one feature that needs a connection, since they cross devices.

What happens to my markups if I change the text size or layout?

They follow. Marks anchor to the words — circle “obey” and it stays on “obey” through any reflow. Freehand pen strokes are the one exception; they stay where you drew them.

Can I use it on an iPad?

Study and markup, yes — including Apple Pencil with pressure. For presenting, use a Go Live link on the projector’s computer and teach wirelessly from the iPad, or connect a cable on M-series iPads with Stage Manager. We’re polishing touch ergonomics; tell us what feels off.

Is my data locked in?

No. Studies live on your device, export to a single backup file you can restore anywhere, and passages export as images. If you stop using Marked Word, you lose nothing you made.

Who builds this?

A teacher of the Word who wanted this tool to exist and is building it in the open. It’s free while it’s in beta, and I’d rather hear that something is broken than have you be polite about it.
